Increase Focus with Aromatherapy

In addition to her work providing feedback and editing recommendations for researchers and academics as the head editor for The Academic Editors, Zulfiya Tchaikovsky has a strong interest in metaphysics and alternative medicine. Zulfiya Tchaikovsky earned a degree in Ayurvedic treatments, which include healing with aromatherapy.

Aromatherapy is based on the Vedic principle that smells can have a profound effect on the human body and many aspects of organ function. A group of essential oils known as nootropics are highly recommended for stimulating brain areas associated with focus, mental clarity, and concentration.

The aroma molecules in scents such as peppermint or rosemary activate the brain’s limbic system, which is associated with learning and memory. Citric oils such as grapefruit can also energize the brain and boost motivation. Other oils such as lavender and vetiver oil increase concentration by reducing anxiety. These oils can be placed topically on the temples or diffused using an oil burner or steamer.
